The Los Angeles Times recently ran an article that highlights some of the business behind plant propagation like we are doing in class. It makes for some interesting reading and a little time dreaming about what could this taste like to be the focus of so much praise for flavor?
In other news, Idalia Ramirez, from last year's propagation class, will be on hand to make the grafting cuts we will use today as I found I didn't have the necessary strength in my right arm to do a satisfactory job of it last week. Idalia has taken what she learned in class last year and has gone on to graft many trees and has shown to have a real knack for it. It should make for an interesting class.
